All the information specified above is displayed by the lsusb -v
command. And the model is engraved into the card as well. The asix kernel module is automatically detected and loaded by the Debian wheezy kernel, i.e. by the stock Debian kernel of version 3.2.0, when the card is plugged into some USB port. Most importantly, it works fine with this kernel.
Installation into Debian wheezy
The Rikomagic USB network card works fine with the 3.2.0 stock kernel included in Debian wheezy. The kernel can be installed as follows if not used yet:
uname -r
apt-get update
apt-get install linux-image-3.2.0-2-amd64
The system should be rebooted if new kernel was installed so that it can be loaded. The ethernet card should be automatically detected after it is inserted into some USB port, the asix kernel module should be loaded and new eth interface should appear in the ifconfig
output.
